You'll never see a faster mount to a guillotine ever again. That was a lifetime of training and muscle memory. Also, you'll never see someone survive one like that. Ortega is a warrior and Volk is working on becoming the GOAT. This is one of my favorite fights ever, coupled with one of the best rounds in MMA history

Alex Volkanovski is the most perfect champion. Very clean fight, very respectful, very discipline fight and such a nice guy inside and outside the octagon. What a legend

This is the fight that convinced me to become a fan of Alexander Volk. This is the definition of toughness. I never get tired of watching this fight.

Apparently Volk practiced 1000 times or more during training getting out of guillotines and triangle chokes in preparation for Ortega, and wow did that preparation pay off. Still, without that heart of a champion and without those superman skills, Volk might not have survived.

i’ve watched this fight a good 4-5 times, it’s so interesting seeing how tough Volk was the entire fight. Ortega really has the stamina and can take a nasty punch.

man even when the fighters don't like each other much. I LOVE seeing the show of sportsmanship at the end of the fights. It happens a lot more now days too. sometimes it doesn't. But I love seeing it. Like when the dr called the bamf between Diaz and masvidal. literally as soon as the ref waved his hands you could see how disappointed masvidal was at not being able to finish the fight. They we're both in immediate agreement the they had to have another fight as soon as Diaz was healed. Good stuff

It's sad Ortega never really crossed that line into greatness. I remember when the UFC first hyped him up... I thought it was too early for such a young kid. Today he really only had one shot at climbing the rankings and going for a belt. He just needs to tighten his skill... Cause we know he's tuff.
